Happy Pride Month from JCFPL!
As we step into the vibrant month of June Jersey City Free Public Library is proud to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month! Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States that marked the beginning of a movement to outlaw discriminatory laws and practices against LGBTQ Americans.
Today, celebrations include pride parades, picnics, parties, workshops, symposia and concerts, and LGBTQ Pride Month events attract millions of participants worldwide.
At JCFPL we believe in the power of inclusivity and fostering Welcoming Spaces for all our patrons and community members.

Patron Feedback
“Went here to pickup library cards for me and my wife today. The staff was courteous and found our library cards in just few minutes. My wife placed a book on hold and it was already ready for pickup. Well organized and quite efficient staff. Keep up the good work and thanks for being nice to us. Most recommended location for people living around Grove street, Newport.”
