Submission Guidelines
A patron wishing to request reconsideration of the inclusion of any title in JCFPL collections may do so by filling out the form online below, sending the form by email, or sending the form by postal mail to the Library Director to the address listed below. The requester must hold a JCFPL Full-Privilege Card in good standing; any requests made by others will not be considered under the Resource Selection Policy.
Review and Appeals Process
All Requests for Reconsideration of Library Resources will be considered by a committee composed of the Assistant Director, the manager of the facility where the resource is held, the Collection Development Librarian, and other library staff as appropriate to the request. Library staff and/or Board Trustees may be notified of Requests for Reconsideration. The recommendation of this committee will be communicated to the Library Director, who will make the final decision and communicate it by letter to the requester within two weeks of the receipt of the request. Should a requester wish to appeal the Library Director’s decision, they may do so by requesting a hearing by the Library Board of Trustees. Such a request must be made in writing to the Library Director at one of the contact addresses listed below, at least one week prior to a scheduled Regular Board Meeting. The Board’s consideration of any appeal will be limited to the title named in the original Request for Reconsideration.
