Jersey City Free Public Library Annual Backpack Giveaway

Jersey City Free Public Library (JCFPL) is excited to announce our Annual Backpack Giveaway. As part of our commitment to Lifelong Learning, we are hosting a systemwide backpack giveaway to support local students and families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. This giveaway is about more than just providing backpacks. It is about ensuring every student in our community has what they need to thrive in their educational journey. 

The backpack giveaway will take place on August 23^rd from 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the following library locations: 

• Priscilla Gardner Main Library 
• Five Corners Branch 
• Heights Branch 
• Glenn D. Cunningham Branch 
• Miller Branch 
• Earl A. Morgan Branch 
• Communipaw Branch  

We will provide backpacks for the following age groups: 

• Pre-readers 
• Elementary School 
• Middle School 
• High School 

We also have a limited number of totes for teachers. 

Important Instructions:

Students and teachers must register using their library card to receive a backpack or tote. You will only receive one backpack or tote per library card.  

Registration for the giveaway will take place from August 2nd – **August 12th** or until all backpacks and totes are allocated.

To receive a backpack, you must give JCFPL staff the name and email address listed on the registration. To receive a tote, you must give JCFPL staff your name, email address and show your work ID.

Due to high email volume, you may not receive a confirmation email, but rest assured that if your form was submitted correctly, it has been successfully processed.
