Happy National Family Literacy Month
November is National Family Literacy Month! Back in 1994, the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL) worked with Congress to designate November 1 as National Family Literacy Day. Each year for the past 29 years libraries across the country decided to celebrate National Family Literacy Month throughout each November.
The month offers an opportunity for Jersey City Free Public Library to emphasize the important role that families play in educating their children. Studies show that reading aloud with a guardian is the most important activity when it comes to preparing children to read on their own. Come celebrate National Family Literacy Month with us at JCFPL, where we’re here to support every step of your child’s Lifelong Learning journey. Visit a branch, visit the children’s room and enjoy some reading together.

Feedback
“I came in to check out the space on a random Wednesday and was greeted so warmly by all the staff there. Their Youth Center is so nice and welcoming and just an overall vibe. They also have so many cool events and it’s all free. FYI it also smells so good in there.”
