Happy Jersey City Pride from Jersey City Free Public Library
Happy JC Pride from JCFPL!
This year marks 24 years of Jersey City Pride, where we celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ communities and allies in Hudson County and the New York City Metro Area. What makes Jersey City Pride unique is its focus on the importance of diversity in our community. Celebrating JC Pride in our culturally diverse city is important because it creates an environment of inclusivity and understanding which highlights the intersection of different identities and experiences for all residents. We are proud to have wide selection of LGBTQ+ books across out collection. At JCFPL, we believe in the power of inclusivity and fostering Welcoming Spaces for all our patrons and community members.
During the month-long celebration JCFPL is hosting Drag Queen Story Hour at Priscilla Gardner Main Library Monday August 12th from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m..
You can also look out for JCFPL at the Jersey City Pride Festival on August 23rd. We’ll be marching in the parade and tabling at the event to engage with our patrons, educate the community on library resources and hand out JCFPL swag!

“This is one of the greatest, cleanest library in Jersey City. If you really need a place to spend time without a mobile phone and read books like in the older days then this is the place for you.” – Karpaga Vinayagam Ramalakshmanan, Morgan Branch Library
