Celebrate Independence Day with JCFPL
Jersey City Free Public Library invites our patrons to honor this country’s rich history this Independence Day.
July 4th, 1776 marks the historic day that the Declaration of Independence was approved by the Continental Congress. The declaration stated that the American colonies no longer wanted to be ruled by Great Britain and that they wanted to become their own country.
From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.
JCFPL’s commitment to lifelong learning supports our celebration of Independence Day by providing relevant digital resources in which patrons can utilize to learn more about our nation’s founding.
