The first was Oscarly Sanchez, who came in and said that he would come to the library when he was a young boy to do his homework. He graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a GPA of 3.24 and made the Dean’s List on Wednesday May 21st with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering! He said that he remembered coming into the Marion Branch library when he was young to “get away.” He saw the pencil sharpener that is still here at the Marion Branch, and said, “I remember this pencil sharpener. It’s still here!” Mr. Sanchez gave the staff and myself a brief lecture about the manufacturing process, and then gave me an invitation to his graduation ceremony but I sadly could not make it. His Major subjects are Control Systems, Sustainable Energy, Heat Transfer, Modeling and Simulation, Design of Machine Components, and much more in the technology field. He is also a Tae Kwon Do instructor and a Madrid study abroad student! He is inspired by Bob Marley, and he loves and supports the Jersey City Free Public Library!

Our other visitor was Mr. Jeremy Eusebio, who did a “Book Selfie” with one of his favorite books: “Of Mice and Men” [by John Steinbeck]! Jeremy was a regular patron who specifically came in to tell us that he found a job! He mentioned that he would not be coming in as often as he usually does, so he wanted to tell us so we would not “worry” or wonder what happened to him, but said that he will occasionally drop by.
